After much careful thought and consideration, we've taken the difficult – but necessary – decision to postpone the summer 2021 graduation ceremonies due to take place at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
As with 2020, we will hold an online celebration event, more details of which will come later. We are now focusing our planning on the possibility of holding in-person graduation events in the autumn or winter, as well as looking at how, in 2022, we might recognise publicly those who have been unable to attend a graduation ceremony so far as a result of the pandemic. We'll share further information about this with all of our students who are due to graduate in July.
Although the ceremonies have been postponed, you will complete your awards and receive your degree certificates so this will not hinder you in starting jobs or further study.
You will be a graduate of the University of Sunderland, and we look forward to celebrating that with you and your guests at a later date.
