Gareth Hall

South Tyneside, UK

BA (Hons) Graphic Design

Graphic Design graduate Gareth Hall worked on a project called ‘Talkers’ where he and a fellow student produced a talking point for individuals to talk about their mental health. Following graduation, he is now working with the Employability and Enterprise Hub to redesign and rebrand their marketing materials, as well as continuing his freelance career.

The staff have supported me throughout this project to create something that I never thought I could do, and also really fine-tuned my skills so I can go on and apply these to my freelance career. They’ve taught me so much that I wouldn’t have been able to do before.

I want to continue my freelance career, and I’ve also got a job with the Employability and Enterprise Hub who have employed me to redesign and rebrand their marketing materials and graphics.

My advice to future students is to just throw yourself in it and be part of the course – come in, enjoy it! You’re not going to get this opportunity ever again so enjoy it while it lasts – because it certainly flies by! The team that you’ll meet, the friends that will be with you moving forward, mine are like family to me and I couldn’t thank the University more for this opportunity I’ve got now."
