I learned so much from my Illustration and Design degree. As well as all the things you’d expect from the course, like improving your skills and creativity, there was also a lot of help with how to get a job in the creative industries after you graduate.

While I was studying I went to loads of talks and networking events, I did a work placement with a large design agency in Newcastle, and I was doing freelance work around my uni coursework.

I was applying for jobs towards the end of my final year, and when I graduated I started working straight away as a graphic designer."
