Introduction

Bring business theory to life! This programme combines practical management ideas with exposure to current practice, giving you the business skills and competencies needed for career success.

The MBM Master of Business Management is particularly aimed at non-business graduates. Our objective is to help you access a deep knowledge of business. The MBM can give you a vital edge in gaining a managerial position in the industry of your first degree - whatever your original subject.

The MBM is also suitable for business graduates who would like to take the next step in terms of advanced insights into the world of business and management. You will find that the programme enhances your effectiveness in a management role.

You will develop competencies in all areas of business, from managing people to strategic direction. The programme explores the full range of functions that contribute to business decision-making, and brings you up-to-date with contemporary business developments.

Entry Requirements

We welcome applications from holders of an honours degree or equivalent professional qualification in any discipline. We also invite applications from people with relevant experience.

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may exceptionally be considered at the discretion of the Programme Leader.

You will have opportunities to meet managers and find out how successful organisations really function through a comprehensive programme of visiting speakers; for example, we welcome speakers from companies such as Nissan and British Aerospace to add real work examples to business theory.

We will also take you on company visits to learn first-hand from leading organisations such as Nike and Ikea.

As a student of the Faculty of Business and Law, you will have access to some of the best learning support facilities in the higher education sector.

Our libraries provide computers, printing, photocopying, and inter-library loans. Sunderland also has an extensive electronic library collection, which means you can access much of the information you need online.
