Introduction

Are you excited by opportunities in IT, and would like to develop a successful career in network systems? If you have a foundation degree, HND or equivalent in a computer networking discipline, you can complete this top-up programme to gain a BSc (Hons) Network Systems in one year.

This programme has a strong technical flavour and is a good choice if you want to further develop an in-depth knowledge of networking technologies applicable to scientific, industrial and commercial areas.

The programme draws together a package of technical knowledge and skills. You will explore the specifics of today's Information Technology, as well as the underlying themes that will underpin developments in the years ahead.

Teaching and Assessment

Assessment is principally by coursework and examinations although other techniques including presentations and peer assessed group work are also used.

The Department of Computing, Engineering and Technology is a Microsoft Regional Centre for the North of England and a Certified Cisco Academy for both Associate (CCNA) and Professional (CCNP) levels.
