Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
- Are you looking to increase turnover and profits?
- Are you looking to develop new and existing technologies, products or processes?
- Are you looking to tap into new markets or increase your competitive advantage?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Sunderland could be just what you are looking for!
What are Knowledge Transfer Partnerships?
Part funded to the tune of 60% for companies employing less than 250 people and with a turnover below Euro 50 million. KTPs enable a business to partner with a university on a two to three year project to drive forward innovaton and embed strategic change within the organisation.
How do KTPs Work?
Through a KTP a suitably qualified graduated works in the business on a full time basis with half a day per week mentoring and supervisory support from a university specialist(s).
Business Development Staff will work with the business to establish at an early stage whether the area(s) to be developed would fit with a KTP, to identify the appropriate expertise within the University and work with the business to complete and submit the application.
The application is then submitted for approval to the national KTP organisation for review. Should the application be successful then the business and University will work together to recruit the right candidate for the project.
Each KTP is project managed by the University and its Regional KTP adviser and running alongside the half a day per week support from the University are quarterly review meetings which enable monitoring of the project outcomes.
