Help Us Shape Our Students Futures
Did you always know what you wanted to be when you grew up?
It's probably fair to say that aside from the odd childhood fascination of becoming the latest super hero, very few of us had solid ideas as to what type of career we wanted to pursue.
Today's future graduates have even more pressures, with rising competition for employment and rising fees they need to start shaping the opportunities for their futures now.
Which is why we are calling on you for help.
Our students need to hear about the world of work from those in the know, people like you who have been there, done that and can help a new student gain an insight into life outside the safety of education.
We would therefore like to invite you to become a University of Sunderland Professional Mentor to help us to shape the future of our future graduates.
What happens next.
- The first stage is for you to complete an online registration form which provides us with details about you and your experience - this information is used to help match you with your mentee
- You will then be required to attend a short Mentoring Induction Session (dates are provided on the registration form)
- We will then provide you with details of your mentee and a short summary of the five key things they would like to get out of the Mentoring Scheme as a starting point for your conversation
- Over to you to arrange your mentoring meetings - we will ask you to spend a minimum of three, one hour sessions with your mentee
