Department of Culture

The Department of Culture is extremely diverse, offering both a breadth and a depth of possibilities in a learning environment based on research at national and international levels.

From short courses at the North East Centre for Lifelong Learning (NECLL) based at Newcastle , to the  Customised Award Scheme from Stages 1-4, undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes and/or PhD opportunities in Creative Writing, English, History, Modern  Foreign Languages, Politics, Religious Studies and the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

We offer a high quality experience and with our Combined Subjects Programme linking these and many other subjects across the University, including the University Language Scheme , the Department offers a student experience second-to-none.

We welcome international students from more than 100 countries to the University of Sunderland and greatly value the cultural diversity that they bring. We want to attract the brightest and the best students to join us at the University. Our two campuses - one in the city and one on the coast - are perfectly placed to ensure a life-changing student experience.
