Introduction

The MA International Management (MAIM) offers a postgraduate qualification with a specialist international focus. It is designed for graduates in business or management who have limited or no work experience.

The course is focused on developing your career. It covers a broad range of business activity and will equip you for the increasingly competitive international marketplace.

Through the course you will develop knowledge and understanding of business in a global context, including the way that business is done in different countries. You will also develop skills and abilities in international business, cross-cultural management and communication.

You will develop effective cross-cultural skills and skills in the formation and management of international personnel and training practice and will also have the opportunity to develop a broad perspective on managing a business internationally which will be complemented by a programme of organisational visits and speakers.

Your cross-cultural skills will be further enhanced by working as part of cultural diverse peer action learning sets. These allow you to share and benefit from the knowledge and experiences of your co-students.

Entry Requirements

Applicants normally hold a 2:2 honours degree in a business discipline. Alternatively, if you have relevant experience or professional qualifications recognised as being the equivalent of an honours degree you may also be considered. If you do not meet the above requirements you may exceptionally be considered at the discretion of the Programme Leader.

If you are an overseas applicant whose first language is not English you will be required to produce evidence of competence in English. This will normally be a score of 6 on the British Council International English Language Testing Scheme (IELTS) test or a Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550/213 (paper/computer based).
