Introduction
Click here to go to the Combined Subjects Homepage.
The Combined Subjects degree provides an opportunity to study Tourism with another subject as a major, minor or dual.
Tourism requires graduates with a firm background knowledge of essential academic concepts and real-world developmental approaches as well as the ability to think critically and express themselves clearly to all audiences.
By taking advantage of local trips, residential field studies or maybe studying abroad, you will gain a wealth of practical knowledge and experience that employers will value highly.
Minor
This route will introduce students to the key elements of studying Tourism by developing their understanding of this subject area. Students will be able to gain an essential knowledge of this subject without studying it in depth.
The student will also be given the opportunity to develop communication and teamwork skills as well as a critical analysis of the main aspects of the subject area.
Dual
This route will build upon the minor route by enabling the student to develop an in-depth and broad based knowledge of Tourism.
They will also be given the opportunity to develop skills in the handling and evaluation of qualitative and quantitative data and information using IT skills.
Major
This route will build upon the minor and dual routes by enabling the student to undertake a research project/dissertation in the field of Tourism.
