University of Sunderland halls of residence
We have a range of modern, purpose-built accommodation for students, all located within 1.5 miles of the city centre.
First year undergraduate students starting in September and postgraduate students are guaranteed a single study-bedroom in one of our five student accommodation centres:
- Clanny House
- The Forge - U Student Village
- Panns Bank
- The Precinct
- Scotia Quay

Benefits of halls of residence
All halls are self-catered, with fully equipped kitchens and on-site laundry facilities. Personal possessions insurance is included within the rent, as is free wifi internet access (free wired internet access in Scotia Quay and in some rooms in The Precinct).
A free campus bus service links all halls to both campuses, and there is also free parking for students with cars.

Come to an Open Day for a tour of the accommodation available to students. If you can't get to an Open Day, more tours of University-managed accommodation are arranged throughout the year - contact the Student Helpline for more information.

Rent fees
Sunderland is one of the best-value places in the UK to be a student, with halls of residence typically costing £192 - £320 per month (£48 - £80 per week).
