Studying Fine Art at Sunderland will enable you to discover and develop your own place within the world of contemporary art.
We have a long history, fine art has been studied in Sunderland since the 1860s. This long tradition gives our courses a rich inheritance and association with the proud history of art education in the UK. Our aim is to expand your critical understanding of fine art, through an emphasis on studio centred practice and debate. Our courses will enable you to develop both your intellectual and technical abilities, maximise your creative potential and generate a professional working practice.
The fine art team is complemented annually by a range of visiting artists, such as CIRCA, Kate Liston, Axel lapp, Anthony Faroux, Eleanoe Moreton, Catherine Bertola, Jo Coupe, Doug Fishbone, Laura Lancaster, Marta Marce, George Shaw, Jo Delappe, Paul Moss and Dan Silver.
