Professor Tony Alabaster
Head of the Centre for Environmental Informatics and Professor in Environmental Informatics in the School of Health, Natural and Social Sciences at the University of Sunderland. Tony Alabaster is active in the field of evaluating and reporting environmental performance and in particular the dissemination of best practice to developing countries. Current links include, inter alia, Colombia, Latin America and the Sakha Republic, Eastern Siberia and Nigeria.
Dr. Julia Walton
Senior Lecturer and International Development Co-ordinator, Julia has conducted internet and print based research since 1994 which has focused on environmental accountability in the industry and business and higher education sectors. Evaluations of
environmental reports and voluntary environmental agreements have been undertaken through EU funded projects. Julia is currently developing research links with Nigeria.
Joan Oshiegbu-Iyamu joined the CEI in January 2007. She has an MSc in Business Information Technology and a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Regional Planning. Joan previously worked in the Rural Development Agency in Nigeria, and she has a keen interest in the environmental and social issues of the Niger Delta. She is undertaking a PhD entitled `Environmental and Social Accountability and Stakeholder Engagement within the Oil and Gas Industry in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.¿
