Distance Learning Partners

The University of Sunderland is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in several disciplines. The department offers both Computing and Engineering courses at undergraduate and postgraduate courses through a network of worldwide study centres.

Our prime objective for off-campus activities is to ensure that students studying at a distance receive the same high quality learning experience as students studying on our Sunderland campus. To accomplish this, selected courses are delivered via a global network of Learning Centres, where students attend for regular sessions.

So, if you want to study for one of our degrees, but for whatever reason can't study at our campus in Sunderland, you can still gain a Sunderland computing or engineering degree at a more convenient distance education centre.

Distance centre teaching materials are developed by the academic staff responsible for the course module in the Department of Computing, Engineering and Technology. In addition, students at our partner centres receive support from a University approved local academic and work through the sessions and tutorial materials. In most cases, assignments and tests are produced by and marked by the Department's academic staff thereby ensuring an equivalent standard around the world.

We have developed strong partnerships for over a decade with high quality distance education centres in the UK and worldwide. To find out more about our distance partners, or to enquire about delivering our courses through your own distance education centre, please contact cet-enquiries@sunderland.ac.uk
