Student Attendance & Absence Monitoring
The University's Attendance and Absence Monitoring System was implemented in September 2009. All students are expected to be in attendance at scheduled sessions unless they have officially reported their absence. The attendance and absence monitoring system is a vital part of the University's retention strategy and we believe it provides us with the opportunity to identify, at a very early stage, those students who may be experiencing problems and enables us to provide help, should it be required, from the many support services here at the University.
As a student it is your responsibility to ensure your attendance is recorded accurately either by signing registers in classes or reporting your absence officially through the electronic online form provided through the 'report an absence' link available on my.sunderland.ac.uk.
