Paula Danby is a lecturer in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, and is the current module leader for our TLH121 Study Skills for Tourism, Hospitality and Events and TLH122 Marketing for Tourism, Hospitality and Events modules. Paula is also Module Leader for the Travel and Tourism Foundation Degree Level 1 students. Paula’s area of specialism is in tourism development and management, and she is currently carrying out extensive research for her final phase of her PhD looking at human-equine relationships and experiences associated with equestrianism. Prior to joining the Tourism Department in Sunderland’s Faculty of Business and Law, she worked as a Visiting Lecturer within the University and City of Sunderland College. Paula also has previous industry related experience where she worked as a Tourism Consultant gaining experience of a variety of leisure and tourism related projects and worked as a Passenger Service Agent within Newcastle International Airport.
