Study Abroad
The Faculty of Business and Law and the wider University have many partners and contacts that enable us to offer our students study abroad opportunities. This is usually for one or two semesters in year two in an overseas or European destination.
The overseas offer includes both studying in English speaking countries including USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa, as well as countries where English is not the first language: Argentina, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Malaysia.
The European offer includes the chance to study in English in countries including; Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Denmark, Belgium and many more destinations. Students will find that most European Universities will be genuinely very happy to accept undergraduates from the UK.
For business students, an additional and quite rare opportunity also exists in the opportunity to participate and study in the European Project Semester in one of our partner institutions. This enables a student to work on an in-company specific project, to be tutored and supported by a senior University academic member of staff and to connect with other students on the programme. This combination allows the participant to engage in a practical application of their business and academic knowledge and to gain credits which cover that semester’s work.
Lastly, our European commitment links to ERASMUS, which will provide access to funding.
Please remember, the time you spend abroad replaces the time you would have spent in Sunderland, so your degree will take the normal length of time to complete. However, you will be undertaking more experiences as well as excitement and fun whilst enhancing your portfolio.
All of these major developmental opportunities enable you to enhance your CV and consequently your employability.
