Our Dean and Executive Team
Dean of Faculty
Professor Gary Holmes is Dean of the Faculty of Education and Society. His specialist field is educational leadership and management. Prof Holmes was appointed to the University in 2003. Previously he has worked in 3 other UK Universities following an initial career in School Teaching.
His professional responsibilities have included some of the early development work on the national leadership programmes for headteachers which now form part of the National College for School Leadership. He has also worked extensively overseas on Educational Leadership projects in Poland, Romania and Latvia and has been Visiting Professor in Organisational Behaviour at the University of Victoria in Canada.
