Biography

In the past, David worked in industry as an IT consultant/manager.  After successfully completing this teacher training as an Adult Numeracy specialist he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Adult Numeracy at the University of Sunderland.

Research Interests

David's research interests are in the pedagogy of Adult Numeracy and the subject knowledge requirements of adult numeracy teacher.  David contributed to case study on FE workforce reform and to regional report on capacity building in adult numeracy teaching.

David has developed short Level 3 personal numeracy skills preparation course for students applying for Level 5 course.  He also was awarded a programme development grant to design the curriculum for a Level 5 Numeracy course.
