Biography
I am a psychologist with many years research experience in the area of child development. I began working at the University of Sunderland in 2001 and have been teaching on Childhood Studies since 2007. My previous work has been in psychology and child development and this has led to led to an interest in the social and psychological development of children, with particular focus on the ecological context of their lives.

Teaching Areas
I currently teach on the Childhood Studies programme, mainly on child development modules and dissertation supervision in areas related to my research.Research Interests
My research concerns the interfaces of education, health and development, and social well-being. I am interested in research in children's mental health and well being, behaviour problems in children in the early years, parenting and grandparenting and the social context of children's lives.Selected Publications
