The goal of our programmes in this area is to provide students with the knowledge and experience to contribute to the provision of services for children and families in other areas of employment.

What we look for in a student?

The most important quality our students should have when starting their studies is to have a keen interest in children and their welfare. Students will also have an active curiosity about how children develop and learn.

We appreciate that there will be students who bring with them a variety of knowledge and experience about children, young people and families; therefore the course is designed to cater for these individual needs.

You will already have or will develop: good communication, teamwork and technical skills. The course is designed to support you in making the link between theory and practice in the workplace. Your course will enable you to acquire the knowledge and understanding you will need to ensure you are able to make a positive contribution in your chosen field.
