The secondary subjects on offer are Biology, Business, Chemistry, Design & Technology (including Food Technology), English, Media, ICT, Geography, Mathematics and Physics. We also offer a Graduate Teacher Training Programme.
The most important quality students should have when starting their studies is to have a keen interest in children's and young people's education and their welfare, and also have an active curiosity about how they develop and learn.
We appreciate that students bring with them a variety of knowledge and experience about children so our courses are designed to cater for the individual needs of our students.
There is currently a national shortage of teachers in most of the subjects we offer, so your job prospects will be excellent. Over 90% of our graduates of Sunderland Education courses will obtain full-time teaching posts.
