Erasmus Grant 2011/12
Any student taking part in an Erasmus placement, either study or work, is entitled to an Erasmus grant. This page will provide general guidelines for all students undertaking an Erasmus placement in 2011/12. You will also find the required documentation for your time abroad.
You should read carefully through the Erasmus Grant Guide 2011-12 for information and guidance. Please pay particular attention to the information about payment of grants and required documentation.
Before you go
Before you go on placement you should make sure that you have completed the required documentation as below.
Training Agreement (For work placements)
University of Sunderland Study Abroad and Exchange Terms and Conditions
During your placement
When you arrive at your host you should get the Erasmus Arrival Information completed by the International office and sent back to Sunderland. Once you have met with your academic advisor, you should have a completed Erasmus Learning Agreement (study placements only).
Only when we have received all of this documentation can we begin to process your Erasmus Grant. Once you have received your grant, you should email Emma Pearce to confirm receipt of your grant via study.abroad@sunderland.ac.uk
After your placement
When you are leaving your host instution, you should request a copy of your transcript for that semester. A Confirmation of Attendance has to be completed before you leave your host university to confirm the exact dates of your placement.
NB The dates you provide on your arrival and departure forms are the dates by which your grant is calculated. If the dates you give change, you may have to repay/be owed some of your grant money so please try and make it as accurate as possible.
All students are required to send back a final report at the end of your placement.

The address to send any documents back to is: Emma Pearce, University of Sunderland, International Office, Edinburgh Building, Chester Road, Sunderland, SR1 3SD or study.abroad@sunderland.ac.uk
Please note that these documents are required by the British Council so we cannot be flexible. If you are studying at two host institutions, you should provide the above documentation for each semester/placement. If you do not adhere to the regulations set by the British Council, you may be asked to repay the funding.
