STUDENTS from the University of Sunderland’s very own radio and television station will be streaming live from the Sunderland International Airshow this weekend.

For those unfortunate few unable to attend the popular event along Seaburn’s coastline, Spark FM and Spark TV will be capturing all the action throughout the weekend, so the region’s listeners don’t have to miss a minute.

107 Spark FM will begin streaming live after the breakfast show, while the television coverage begins on Saturday (July 21) 1.15pm to 5pm, and on Sunday (July 22) 11.45pm to 5pm, and includes interviews with The Risk, finalists on the X Factor.

Visitors to the Airshow can meet the media team at the Marriott Hotel in Queens Parade, see the presenters undergo gruelling challenges from The Army and collect your very own goodie bag.

Spark is a multi-award winning radio and television station, and magazine, which broadcasts from the David Puttnam Media Centre to Sunderland on 107FM, and to the North East and the world at www.sparksunderland.com

Since 2009, Spark has picked up a host of awards, including being named ‘Best Student Radio Station in the World’ at a prestigious international awards ceremony in New York, Best Station in the North East (Radio Academy Nations and Regions), and Best Community Engagement (Student Radio Association).
