Chris Mullin: The Rise and Fall of New Labour

Chris Mullin was MP for Sunderland South from 1987 to 2010. He was twice chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, was a minister in three departments - Environment, International Development and the Foreign Office. He is also the author of three novels, one of which, A Very British Coup, was made into a successful television series.

Chris Mullin, former Sunderland MP and Government Minister, talks about his widely acclaimed diaries, which cover the rise and fall of New Labour from the night of John Smith’s death in May 1994 to the day that Gordon Brown left Downing Street 16 years later.

Chris Mullin’s talk will be followed by a book-signing.
