The Stadium of Light

Sunderland AFC and the University is delighted to be once again welcoming graduates and guests to the Stadium of Light for this prestigious event.

Services include:

• Reception areas with pre/post ceremony refreshments (included in ticket price) and light breakfast/lunch (to purchase)
• The ceremony, gowning, photography, pre and post-ceremony reception areas, and merchandise sales all held within the stadium
• Hospitality bars are open pre/post ceremony 
• Unique photo opportunities where guests may be escorted to pitchside and the dressing room areas
• Re-live the graduation experience as ceremonies are played back on the stadium screens
• Creche facilities staffed and serviced by University of Sunderland
• Extensive free car parking facilities
• Easy access to all local and national transport links

Finding your way around the Stadium

Floor plans and signs are placed at numerous locations around the stadium, as well as a stadium plan on the back of all guest  tickets. A help point is located in the main reception and a meeting point in the Magic Moments Bar, in additional to University and Stadium staff being available throughout the day to help.

Please note the ceremonies are held outdoors and you will be seated in the terraces, therefore graduates and guests should be dressed appropriately. ‎‌

Make your graduation day extra special

Additional services are available from the Stadium of Light to make your graduation day extra special:

• Champagne & strawberries (order before 5th May for 10% discount)

• Copies of the graduation ceremony on DVD/Video (£19.95 each - order before 5th May for 10% discount)

• Executive Box Mini Bar - stocked prior to arrival with alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic options. Payment must be made in full prior to the ceremony day. (This service is only available to those graduates and their families who have requested an Executive Box when completing the Online Booking Form via the University of Sunderland)

• Stylish suites available - There are a range of excellent offers for private events to celebrate this years graduations, with stylish suites available from accommodating from 20-1000 guests, for informal gatherings to glittering graduation dinners.
