Levels of study

Undergraduate Study: Undergraduate first degree level courses include foundation, BA, BSc and BEng courses.  Many of these include a one-year work placement.

Postgraduate Study: Postgraduate courses include postgraduate diploma, postgraduate certificates, masters degrees (MA, MSc, MBA) and doctorates.

Foundation Degrees: These include FdA, FdSc and FdEng. Foundation Degrees may be studied full or part-time depending on the course and where you are studying. They are offered here at University and at partner colleges.

Research Degrees: Our research opportunities include Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Professional Doctorate (DProf), Integrated PhD and PhD by Existing Published or Creative Works.

Short Courses: Our Centre for Lifelong Learning offers a vast range of short courses which are open to all and meet the widest of interests.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): We offer a range of CPD opportunities which will improve and broaden your skills and knowledge and develop the personal qualities required in your profession.

Customised Award Scheme: The Customised Award Scheme is a very flexible way of studying for University accredited awards. You can take certificates, diplomas or degrees, and study full-time and/or part-time.

Flexible study

Part-time study: Many of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses can be studied part-time.

Work-Based Learning: Work-based Learning is a new and flexible approach to recognising and developing knowledge in the workplace.

Distance Learning: We offer a range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, full and part-time which can be studied as distance learning without the need to attend university.

Study at a Partner College: We offer a range of courses at undergraduate level which are offered at partner colleges in the region as well as throughout the UK.
