We have a range of modern, purpose-built accommodation for students, all located within 1.5 miles of the city centre.
First year undergraduate students starting in September are guaranteed a single study-bedroom in one of our five student accommodation centres:
Images of our accommodation are available online in our virtual tours of all University of Sunderland accommodation.
All-male and all-female flats can be made available, dependent on application date and availability.
Most of our accommodation has technology to support students who are deaf or hearing impaired, and we also have rooms, kitchens and bathrooms which are easily accessible for students who use wheelchairs. We can also help if you have any other needs, such as needing a personal fridge for storing medication.
Benefits of halls of residence
All student accommodation centres are self-catered, with fully equipped kitchens and on-site laundry facilities.
Personal possessions insurance is included within the rent, as is free 35Mb wifi internet access.
A free campus bus service links all centres to both campuses, and there is also free parking for students with cars.
Sunderland is one of the best-value places in the UK to be a student.
The cost of our university accommodation ranges from approximately £75 per week for a standard room, to £95 per week for an ensuite single study bedroom with river views. Full rent information can be found on each of the five student accommodation pages.
If you come to an Open Day you'll have the chance to take a tour to see our student accommodation for yourself.
If you can't make it to an Open Day, we can organise an individual tour. For more information email the Residential team: firstname.lastname@example.org
