This course is designed to build on HND or Foundation Degree qualifications in drama. It combines degree-level theoretical studies with further training in performance. It forms part of our well-regarded suite of drama courses; Sunderland is no.1 in the North East for drama and dance, according to The Guardian University Guide 2012.
The National Student Survey shows a high level of satisfaction with the way Sunderland teaches drama. According to the most recent survey, around 9 out of 10 students believe that our staff are good at explaining things.
The course covers both academic theory and practical skills. Modules include ‘Acting and Directing’, ‘Television Drama’, ‘Contemporary Theatre Practice’ and ‘Applied Theatre’.
Your tutors will help you towards excellent communication and creative skills. These are valued by many types of employer. So, after the course, your career options go well beyond possible work as an actor or performer.
