Get There Campus Scholarship 2013/14
Free travel across Tyne and Wear (or £500 discount on University accommodation).
The Sunderland Get There Campus Scholarship provides free unlimited travel within Tyne and Wear for 12 months.
You can travel for free across the whole of the Nexus Metro system, the Shields Ferry, Arriva, Go North East and Stagecoach buses and on Northern rail services between Sunderland and Blaydon.
If you don’t want the free travel pass you can choose to have a £500 discount on your first year of University-managed accommodation.
Everyone who meets the eligibility criteria will automatically receive this scholarship - you do not have to apply for it.
If you are eligible for the scholarship, you will automatically receive the travel pass. If you would prefer the accommodation discount you need to tell the accommodation team when you book your University-managed accommodation.
Who's eligible?
This scholarship is available for all new ‘home’ and EU students joining the University of Sunderland in autumn 2013. 'Home' students are those who have been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of their course.
Students applying for some Foundation degrees at partner colleges can also apply for this scholarship. Please see the full list of eligible partner college programmes for more information.

How to apply
Everyone who meets the eligibility criteria will automatically receive this scholarship - you do not have to apply for it. However, you do need to upload an appropriate photograph so that the travel pass can be created for you. You will receive instructions on how to do this in Summer 2013.
If you would prefer the accommodation discount instead of the travel pass, you need to tell the Accommodation Team when you book your University-managed accommodation.
When to collect your travel pass
If you are studying on-campus at Sunderland then you can collect your travel pass during Registration, in September 2013.
If you are studying off-campus then you will receive your travel pass from your college at a later date.
