Free travel across Tyne and Wear (or £500 discount on University accommodation)

The Sunderland Get There Campus Scholarship provides free unlimited travel within Tyne and Wear for 12 months.

You can travel for free across the whole of the Nexus Metro system, most buses, the Shields Ferry, and on Northern rail services between Sunderland and Blaydon. You can also travel for free on Arriva and Go North East buses on other routes across the rest of the North East region.

If you don’t want to take advantage of this offer you can opt for a £500 discount on your first year of University managed accommodation.

 

Who's eligible?

This scholarship is available for all new ‘home’ and EU students joining the University of Sunderland in 2012 on the courses stated. 'Home' students are those who have been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of their course.

Students applying for some Foundation degrees at partner colleges can also apply for this scholarship. Please see the full list of eligible partner college programmes for more information.

How to apply

Before you apply, download and read the Scholarships Terms and Conditions University of Sunderland 2012-13 (.pdf) .

To apply, fill in the online application form to choose either the travel voucher or the accommodation discount. There is one application form for all the University of Sunderland’s scholarships.
