Free University accommodation in your first year

The Sunderland Live In Access Scholarship provides free accommodation in one of the University’s student residencies for the first academic year.

Who's eligible?

To apply for this scholarship you must have a household income of £45,000 or less, and you must live in one of the North East regional postcode areas listed in the term and conditions document at the bottom of this page.

You must apply to the University by the UCAS deadline of 15th January 2012 and select the University of Sunderland as your Firm Choice by the UCAS deadline of 7th June 2012.

The Sunderland Live In Access Scholarship is also available to students on Young People’s Learning Agency (YPLA) funded courses, Teaching Development Agency (TDA) funded courses, and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses.

Students applying for some Foundation degrees at partner colleges can also apply for this scholarship. Please see the full list of eligible partner college programmes for more information.

How to apply

Before you apply, download and read the Scholarships Terms and Conditions University of Sunderland 2012-13 (.pdf).

To apply, fill in the online application form by 16 May 2012. (There is one application form for all the University of Sunderland’s scholarships).

You will need to complete an online statement as part of the application process. Please ensure that you provide as much evidence as possible to help us consider your application.
