The following six scholarships will be applied to you automatically if you are eligible:

• Get There Scholarship*
• Excellence Scholarship
• Graduation Scholarship
• Placement Year Scholarship
• Off-Campus Scholarship
• Care Leavers' Scholarship

*If you would prefer the accommodation discount aspect of the Get There Campus Scholarship, you must inform the Accommodation Team when you apply.

The following scholarships require an online application. You can only apply for one of the three:

• Live In Scholarship
• University of Sunderland Scholarship
• The National Scholarship Programme

A "new" student is someone who has not completed a higher education programme at the University of Sunderland in the past, and who is now enrolled on a new undergraduate course with fees of £7,000 - £8,500.

As a general guide, a "home" student is someone who has lived in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of their course. Other criteria also apply - for full information please see the Scholarships Guidance Notes 2013 (.pdf).

When you receive your confirmation letter from our Admissions Team, it will contain login information for 'Selfcare', which you can use to upload a passport-style photograph.

If you upload an appropriate photograph by 1 September 2013 and you're studying on-campus in Sunderland, your travel pass will be ready for collection in Registration Week in September.

If you are studying at a Partner College your passes will be distributed at the College at a later date.

The £500 discount will be applied automatically, providing you have been offered and you have accepted a place in University accommodation.

If you are paying your accommodation fees in one lump sum the discount will be taken off the total amount. If you are paying your accommodation fees in instalments, the £500 discount will be applied to the second instalment figure, due 1 February 2014.
