The ticket provides free travel from your home in the North East to Sunderland. The ticket is valid for 12 months and you can use it anytime, not just for commuting to University.
If you have a term-time address which is within Tyne and Wear, you'll receive a 'Local' travel ticket.
The Local ticket gives you unlimited travel within Tyne and Wear on Nexus Metro, Shields Ferry, Arriva buses, Go North East buses and Stagecoach buses. You can also use Northern Rail between Sunderland and Blaydon.
If you have a term-time address which is in the North East, but outside of Tyne and Wear, you'll receive a 'Regional' ticket.
The Regional ticket gives you unlimited travel throughout the North East counties: Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Teesside and Northumberland. The Regional ticket gives you unlimited travel in these counties on Nexus Metro, Shields Ferry, Arriva buses, Go North East buses and Stagecoach buses. You can also use Northern Rail between Sunderland and Blaydon.
The Get There London scheme provides £600 worth of travel throughout the TFL system through an allocated Oyster card.
If you don't want the travel ticket, you can choose a £600 discount on any University-managed accommodation instead.
