Senior Lecturer in Investigation
Teaching and supervision
I teach on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, especially the MA and previously the MBA in the Sunderland Business School. I am the module leader for the MA Dissertation as well as module leader for the Leadership in Investigative Management module delivered on the MA. I also teach on some courses in the area of leadership and management development. My teaching expertise is in the area of management, strategy and leadership development. As a personal development coach, I also contribute in this area of our corporate activity to enhance the potential of our students undertaking further study.
Research interests for potential research students
My primary area of research is studying business needs and employee aspirations relating to management development. I currently support Professional Doctorate and PhD students studying leadership development and business improvement.
My main area of expertise is in the teaching of investigative management strategy and leadership development. As a dissertation and project supervisor, I deal mainly in the area of strategic management and organisational change. As a personal development coach I work with clients studying our corporate programmes to enhance their personal development and help them to better understand their contribution to organisational life and place within that complex and rapidly changing business environment.
I am actively involved in two major north-east charities as a volunteer using my skills and expertise for the benefit of the local community and enhancing the development and skills of others.
