Senior Lecturer

I was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance in 2008 having commenced my teaching career at Sunderland College in 2000 where I worked in the Higher Education team teaching Finance and Accounting to HNC/D and foundation degrees. Prior to working in Education I worked in small businesses for over 12 years, preparing accounts and audits for clients.

Research

My research interest is in creating successful graduates within the finance and accounting area. I am currently looking to undertake an exploration of what makes an accounting student marketable to employers.

I'm a member of both validation and revalidation panels within the University and with collaborative partners.

I obtained the maximum exemptions from ACCA for finance programmes which was successfully renewed. 

I also obtained CIMA and CPA (Australia) exemptions.

I was previously a member of both the Faculty Quality Board and University Quality Board.
