Team Leader HRM, Leadership and Finance

I moved into higher education from the chartered accountancy profession in the early 1990's and have been involved in the design and delivery of accounting and finance programmes and modules throughout my time here.

In addition to teaching, I also lead a team of academics in the areas of HRM and Finance, facilitating academic development and focusing upon enhancing the student experience.

I also chair the undergraduate programme studies board which is responsible for the oversight of all business and management undergraduate programmes covering design, delivery and assessment.

Teaching and supervision

I have led and delivered a range of accounting and finance modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level covering financial and management accounting, auditing, corporate finance and quantitative methods.

In addition, I have led the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and the MSc Finance and Management programmes.

Research

My area of research concerns the application of stakeholder theory in higher education and the viability of multi creationism in the development of higher education programmes.

I am a qualified chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

My expertise lies in the accounting profession and the numerous disciplines that are attached to it including international financial reporting and the laws and standards which underpin them, strategic management accounting, the internal financial decision making of organisations, and the theories and practice of corporate finance for large companies.
