Academic Tutor

I am an Academic Tutor working on a variety of study courses in the Faculty of Business, Law and Tourism. Prior to my career in Higher Education (HE), I spent many years working in financial management in numerous manufacturing and service organisations in both the private and public sectors.

I have significant experience in HE, designing, managing and delivering work-based learning programmes. During my time working on various management development initiatives, delivered for a wide variety of clients, I have focused on financial management and how influences on judgement can impact on organisational decision making and success.

Teaching and supervision

I teach a variety of learning modules on various courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. These include part-time work-based learning courses, as well as full-time courses. I also supervise students in project work.

My role also includes supporting work-based learning students as an academic coach. This entails helping them to identify and exploit opportunities for learning in the workplace and apply it in their professional role to support their professional development.
