Lecturer in Computer Science

I am a Lecturer in Computing in the Faculty of Technology specialising in Cybersecurity and Human Computer Interaction.

I received a BSC in Computer Systems Engineering (First Class Honours) and an Msc Cybersecurity (Distinction) from the University of Sunderland. I also hold an associate fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and was a part of the Faculty of Technologies successful Athena Swan application.

I am an active member of Cyber First and the North East Cybersecurity Education Group (NECEG) in addition to heading/supporting several CPHC projects such as supporting early career researchers with cybersecurity and the creation of novel teaching materials through the use of eye-tracking to improve usability inspections. In addition to aforementioned works I have also worked alongside NERSOU and DYNAMO in order to educate and improve small busines/ses and individuals cybersecurity knowledge and skills in the North East of England.

Current research pertains towards small to medium businesses, focusing upon how they currently interact with cybersecurity and gain their cybersecurity knowledge noting how this can be improved upon in order to enhance cybersecurity posture.
