Senior Lecturer in Computer Science

I am Programme Leader for Network Computing. My PhD was in the field of voice technology: Speech Recognition and Synthesis, which means I talked to computers and they spoke back to me.

I worked for 10 years developing systems, software and training for speech recognition applications. This included industrial applications where data entry was required, but operator's hands weren't free, along with computer users with physical disabilities, providing computer access and dictation without using the keyboard.

Teaching and supervision

My current teaching involves Computer Networking, Software Engineering and Systems Analysis and Design.

Research interests for potential research students
