Academic Tutor in History

I completed a BA at Queen’s University Belfast, an MA at Durham University and my PhD at Northumbria University.

I joined the department as a part-time Academic Tutor in September 2019. Prior to this, I taught on a range of modules at Northumbria University and Durham University. I have also worked outside of academia as a fundraiser for the Durham Miners’ Gala.

Teaching and supervision

I currently teach on the module HIS308 Europe: From Revolution To War (1917-39) and supervise final year undergraduate dissertation students.

Research interests for potential research students

I am happy to supervise students in any area of 20th century European History.

My PhD focused on the British Labour movement, exploring how internationalism was conceptualised and applied to Palestine during the interwar years.
  • 20th century British and European history
  • 20th century labour history
  • Interwar anti-colonial movement
