I am a Senior Lecturer in criminal law, criminal justice and equity and trusts.

Teaching and supervision

I teach on LLM Law, LLB Law and I am a firm supervisor in the Sunderland Student Law Clinic. I am the Module Leader for:

Research interests for potential research students

My research is based on criminal law, criminal justice and feminist legal theory with particular focus on the regulation of sex work. I also supervise research in a wide range of criminal law topics such as:

  • Sexual offences
  • Sexual violence
  • Offences against the person
  • Trafficking, coercion and control
  • Homicide
  • Property offences
  • Defences to crime

Research

My research is on the regulation of sex work with particular focus on the impact of sex purchase bans on sex workers in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

I am working towards my PhD under the supervision of Laura Graham and Adam Jackson at Northumbria University.
