Lecturer in Out of Hospital Care
I’m a Lecturer on BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science and Out of Hospital Care and have been a registered Adult Nurse since 2008.
I have a background in both emergency care and medical education within the NHS. In my previous medical education role, I worked with the foundation doctors supporting them with their portfolios, pastorally and within a simulation setting.
Simulation has not only changed my clinical practice, it has shown me the significant importance that non-technical skills can have to both patient experience and to professional relationships. It is a core belief to me that this type of teaching will play an increasingly important role, not only in training and development, but in promoting a safer working environment by engaging students, staff and changing cultures within clinical settings.
I’m interested in emergency care, reflective practice and non-technical skills.
