I am an academic in the area of sports injury/sports medicine with over 25 years of academic experience of teaching physiotherapy, medical science and sports medicine.
My academic and clinical background equipped me with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to be able to diagnose musculoskeletal disorders competently and to provide consultation.
My research interests are in the prevention of musculoskeletal sport related injuries.
Prevention of musculoskeletal sports injuries, in particular in shoulder, knee and lower back regions.
My postgraduate studies consisted of the following research:
A comparison of the isokinetic strength, bipedal and unipedal standing balance; in professional, non-professional and a group of ACL injured football players.
A retrospective sports injury survey in youth football.
A reliability study into the repeatability of the results of isokinetic dynamometry.
I also had a research fellowship at the University of Glasgow on Training our Future Trainers; an educational study about Peer Assisted Learning in the Faculty of Medicine.
