Senior Lecturer in Education

I have over 25 years' experience working in education. Before taking up my role as Senior Lecturer in Education with the University, I developed my teaching experience as both a lecturer and a secondary school teacher. During my time as a secondary teacher I gained experience of pastoral and department leadership including taking up whole school responsibilities for the development of enterprise education and alternative education.

Since joining the Faculty of Education and Society, my roles have included Employment Based Routes into Teaching Manager, Programme Leadership of the PGCE in Diploma subjects, leading the Graduate Training Programme (GTP) and PGCE Business. I have also previously been strand lead for Teach First Business and for the Education Studies strand of our Combined Studies courses.

Throughout my work experience in education, I have been actively involved with Teaching Unions taking on various local and national roles with the National Education Union (formally ATL) and currently an active member of UCU and joint faculty representative.

Teaching and supervision

I teach on PGCE Business Secondary Education.
I also teach on Masters modules in Education for the PGCE courses and module leader of the Secondary Teaching Practice module.
