With the Christmas holidays fast approaching and an extraordinary 2020 coming to a close, it is a good idea, now more than ever, to think about your financial wellbeing and make sure you can budget until the New Year.
You may be waiting for your next installment of student finance to arrive in early January or for funds from elsewhere, so now is the moment to take stock of your financial position and plan to manage your money until your next injection of income.
Remember that your University of Sunderland app contains our PANDA Budgeting tool that can help you plan your finances. There are also some great tips online for keeping track of your Christmas spending at Money Saving Expert and Save The Student.
If you think that you may have money worries over Christmas, get in touch with us NOW. It’s best to have these discussions sooner rather than later. Our Student Financial Guidance Team can offer you practical guidance on managing your money, maximising your income, and, along with our Student Support Funds Office, can talk to you about any hardship funds that might be available in your circumstances.
If you are applying for an Emergency Hardship Fund/Loan, the deadline for payment requests is the 16th of December, so if you have any questions regarding this funding, please do get in contact before this date and talk to us in good time before the Winter Break begins on the 19th December.
Remember, we are here to help!
