These handy FAQs will tell you everything you need to know about the process.
If you achieved your predicted grades, you will receive a confirmation letter from UCAS and a confirmation letter from the University of Sunderland, which will also tell you what you need to do next to enrol. Both letters should arrive on Thursday 17 August 2017.
If you have given us your mobile phone number, you will also receive a congratulatory text message from us on Thursday.
If you exceed your grade prediction you can apply for another course and/or university through the UCAS Adjustment process. When your first choice university changes its offer from conditional firm (CF) to unconditional firm (UF) you will have five days to register with an alternative course. During this time you will still have your original UF offer.
If you have an offer of a place at Sunderland but you achieved slightly lower grades than you needed, we may be able to reconsider your application or offer you a place on a similar course. Call the helpline to talk to a Clearing advisor - 0191 515 3000.
Places can be filled very quickly so you must call the helpline on 0191 515 3000 to discuss the subject you are interested in. UCAS will also list all courses in Clearing.
No, all of our first year students are guaranteed an accommodation place for 2017. Find out more about your accommodation options.
You can apply to the University up to the end of September, shortly after undergraduate courses begin.
If you are already in the UCAS system or Clearing, you will have already paid your fee to UCAS. If you are making a new application, there is no fee.
The Clearing helpline is open 7am – 7pm on Thursday 17 August and Friday 18 August, 10am – 2pm Saturday 19 August and Sunday 20 August, then from 9am – 5pm from Monday 21 August onwards.
