If you achieved your predicted grades, you will receive a confirmation letter from UCAS and a confirmation letter from the University of Sunderland, which will also tell you what you need to do next to enrol. Both letters should arrive on Thursday 16 August 2018.
If you have given us your mobile phone number, you will also receive a congratulatory text message from us on the same day.
If you exceed your grade prediction you can apply for another course and/or university through the UCAS Adjustment process. When your first choice university changes its offer from conditional firm (CF) to unconditional firm (UF) you will have five days to register with an alternative course. During this time you will still have your original UF offer.
If you have an offer of a place at Sunderland but you achieved slightly lower grades than you needed, we may be able to reconsider your application or offer you a place on a similar course. Call the helpline to talk to a Clearing advisor – 0191 515 3000.
We also have a range of Integrated Foundation Year courses, which are specifically designed for those with lower or non-traditional qualifications.
Places can be filled very quickly so you must call the helpline on 0191 515 3000 to discuss the subject you are interested in. UCAS will also list all courses in Clearing.

You can apply to the University up to the end of September, shortly after undergraduate courses begin.
If you are already in the UCAS system or Clearing, you will have already paid your fee to UCAS. If you are making a new application, there is no fee.
