The UK's creative industries sector contributed £109billion to the economy in 2021. Despite a global pandemic and worldwide recession, the industry has remained strong, becoming a vibrant sector with lots of opportunities for graduate careers.
Are you an aspiring fashion designer, graphic designer, Illustrator? ….
We want to meet the next generation of designers.
Come along to this event designed to highlight the key industry links we have on our design courses as we give you a brief and take you through the process of pitching and designing based on a brief from your client. With introductions from some key notes speakers, it will give students an opportunity to ask questions from industry professionals and get a taster for what our degrees offer.
Students will decide in advance of the day, the workshop they do based on their interests. From there academics from each area will talk them through what it would be like to work for a client on an industry brief. Students will get a chance to bring their ideas to the table and work on the brief set for them by our team of academics. They will be encouraged to be creative and think outside of the box with the ideas they pitch and the designs they come up with. Of course, at the end we will have a winner from each group and they will be able to take home a physical copy of their design.

Briefs will be sent out in advance to teachers who book onto the event before Monday 20th November so students can start to come up with ideas before they get to the event. If you would like more information about what the different areas of design will work on, on the day. Please contact student.recruitment@sunderland.ac.uk.
