We offer a range of services designed to enable organisations of all sizes to raise their company profile, promote their recruitment opportunities and engage with our students and graduates on-campus.
Our students and graduates value the expertise and knowledge that employers bring from all industry sectors. Through Sunderland Futures, the University’s employability programme, there are a variety of ways that you can offer your experience and insights to ensure our students become the leaders and tomorrow makers of our societies and economies.
Our experienced team will work with you to ensure you select the event which is right for your organisation. Event opportunities include:
Become one of our Pop-up Employers on campus and meet students on an informal drop-in basis to promote your opportunities and raise your company profile.
We organise three popular Careers Fairs across the academic year. They provide a great platform to discuss placements, internships, volunteering, part-time and graduate recruitment opportunities with our students. Interested in attending a Careers Fair? Find out more.
Talk directly to groups of interested students to promote your company and job opportunities at one of our Employer Presentations.
Help our students and graduates to prepare for the real thing by hosting a mock interview or assessment centre at one of our modern business facilities on campus.
If you’d like to interview candidates from the University of Sunderland we can provide space, support and assistance.
Our Creative Futures blog is aimed at students in our Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries and offers hints and tips about getting into creative jobs, interviews with graduates, and useful careers resources for students who seek a career in the creative sector.
If you work in the creative sector and would be interested in writing or contributing to the blog, get in touch.
Our Sunderland Professional Award (SuPA) provides formal recognition for our students who actively participate in extra-curricular and work experience and skills development activities. Students are asked to apply for the award and provide evidence and reflective awareness of those skills and learning experiences.
Applications are assessed by a panel comprised of an employer, a member of the Careers and Employability Service and a member of academic staff, culminating in our SuPA Awards Ceremony. We welcome employers from all industry sectors to join our assessment panels. If you would like further information about becoming a SuPA panellist get in touch.
Inspire one of our students by passing on your unique experiences, career knowledge and expertise. Join our Professional Mentoring scheme - a programme that matches professionals (mentors) with our University of Sunderland students (mentees).
The Careers and Employability team will raise your profile and promote your event through our website, social media channels and digital communications. We provide a meet and greet service when you arrive and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
