Work Shadowing

Work Shadowing gives you the opportunity to explore first hand your potential career.

Through Sunderland Futures, you can spend anything from 1/2 day to 2 days inside industry. You will have the chance to speak to employees, discover the world of work and begin to build a network of contacts, at the same time as opening doors and adding to your CV.

Four steps to get involved with Work Shadowing

    1. First of all you need to express your interest, via our Ask Sunderland Futures tool:

      Enquire about
      Work Shadowing
    2. Once we've received your interest, we'll be in touch to arrange a quick meet up where we will discuss your preferences and career goals so we can match you to the best opportunity for you.
    3. Next, we will brief you on your opportunity and you will begin your work shadowing experience.
    4. After you’ve completed your work shadowing, you’ll be invited in for a Guidance Appointment where we will help you reflect on your experience and help you update your CV. We’ll also highlight what other work experience opportunities are available to you to stand out from the crowd.
