How can the University help if my child is sad, unhappy or ill?

Home / Help and advice / Info for parents and supporters / Health and wellbeing / My son or daughter seems unhappy, can you help?

Our Health and Wellbeing service has a range of Health Professionals including counsellors, mental health advisors (registered mental health nurse R.M.N and qualified psychological wellbeing practitioner) and general nurses. We recognise that starting University can be a daunting, sometimes overwhelming experience and we are here to support your son or daughter so that they can make the best of their studies and enjoy their student experience.

We also offer an accessible and supportive service for all students experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties which are impacting upon their studies and/or daily lives.

Anyone can experience thoughts and feelings that are distressing or affect their ability to concentrate on their work/studies and we’re here to support your child, provide time for and help create a positive future.

Your child can drop-in or make an appointment at both City Campus and the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s.
